GraceNotes - My Reflections
James 1:2-3
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Joy in trials? Sounds counterintuitive, right? But God isn’t saying to enjoy the struggle—He’s telling us that even in the hard moments, there’s purpose. Every challenge refines us, strengthens us, and deepens our dependence on Him. So, when life feels like a never-ending obstacle course, remember: you’re not just going through it; you’re growing through it.
Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
We don’t have to tiptoe into God’s presence like we’re asking for a favor. He invites us in boldly, knowing that His grace is abundant and His mercy is never-ending. No matter how messy, anxious, or doubtful we feel, He’s ready to meet us where we are.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
Fear is a heavy burden, and it tries to keep us from fully trusting God. But His love is stronger. When we truly grasp how deeply He loves us, fear loses its grip. We don’t have to live afraid—of failure, of the future, or even of not being “enough” for God. His love is already enough.
